Loading Capacity: This is The most critical factor. The total weight of all equipment (lights, cabling, clamps) hanging from the truss MUST be well below the Maximum Working Load (MWL) specified by the truss manufacturer for the specific configuration and span lengths. NEVER EXCEED THE MWL. Consider both point loads (heavy fixtures) and distributed loads.
Wind Loading: If used outdoors, wind can exert significant force. Additional bracing, ballast (weight like water barrels or sandbags), or ground anchoring is essential. MWL decreases significantly in windy conditions.
Manufacturer Specifications: Always follow the specific assembly instructions, load charts, and safety guidelines provided by the truss manufacturer.
